My gut reaction to the title, One Billion Americans, was, “Do you really think it’s a good idea to have many more people who are like us?” Assuming a workforce participation rate of 65 percent, that is a workforce of 650 million. Yglesias published an e-book, The Rent is Too Damned High, which might be described as an early YIMBY manifesto.
